Biography
I studied Computer Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (). There, I focused on several topics, such as artificial intelligence, semantic web, knowledge representation, graph theory and analysis of algorithms.
After working as a software developer for a year and a half, I decided to continue my studies abroad. I got a scholarship from and I came to (previously the RepCog Lab) at Sussex University, where I obtained a PhD in Cognitive Science with and as my supervisors. My interest areas became more broader and I became interested in external representations, interactive learning environments, curriculum and cognitive science.
Currently, I am working in industry and academia. I do web usability studies at Oban Multilingual, where my focus is on cultural similarities and differences. I am a Teaching Fellow in Computer Science for the Human-Computer Interaction module for the PGCert course. I also work as a Research Fellow for the Cognitive Science of Tactile Graphics project at Sussex University, where I help design, conduct and analyse experiments and evaluate the Grapa Tools Suite.
