Part-time and full-time
Advice for ESRC funded students about changing from full-time to part-time study or vice versa.
You can apply to change your studentship from full-time to part-time study or vice versa.
Each application will be considered by the DTC on its own merits and will need the approval of your supervisor.
Important things to be aware of:
- all changes must take effect from the first of the month and, where possible, from the beginning of a quarter (i.e., 1 October, 1 January, 1 April, 1 July)
- your maintenance grant will be paid pro-rata
- you cannot change to part-time study in the last six months of your award.
Forms to change status from full-time to part-time or vice versa are available from:
- your school’s Research & Enterprise coordinator
- the Research Student Administration Office.
