You will study information systems and data analytics in the field of accounting and finance.
You’ll explore four specific areas:
- the role of information systems and data analytics in the context of business processes, transaction cycles and internal controls
- core data management concepts fundamental to the design of modern information systems in accounting and finance
- the extraction, visualisation and communication of key trends and insights from large datasets, in the context of accounting and finance
- recent developments in information systems and data analytics, and the impact this has on the accounting profession.
Throughout the module you are given practical examples using a leading enterprise information system. You will use modern data analytics software, with relevant accounting and finance data sets.
