I have attached students to the old version of the module. How do I move them to the new version?

If you have already attached some students to the new version.

  1. Go to the Module Maintenance screen, click on each of the module versions in turn and click the 'occurrences' button at the bottom of the screen. Note how many students are on the old and new versions. This will allow you to tell them apart in the Teaching Allocation screen.
  2. Go to the Teaching allocation screen and retrieve the module. Select the new version which you can identify by the number of students on it.
  3. On the 'list students' tab delete each of the students. If you have already added students to teaching groups you will have to delete them from the teaching group(s) first.
  4. Go to the Module Maintenance screen and click on the new version of the module and click the 'occurrences' button and delete the new occurrence. Then go to the old version of the module and click the 'occurrences' button and then the 'relink' button. This will allow you to link the new module occurrence attached to the old version to the new version of the module.
  5. You will then need to add the students that you removed earlier.

If you have not yet attached any students to the new version.

  1. Go to the module Maintenance screen and click on the new version of the module and click the 'occurrences' button and delete the new occurrence.
  2. In the same screen go to the old version of the module and click the 'occurrences' button and then the 'relink' button. This will allow you to link the new module occurrence attached to the old version to the new version of the module.

NB: For future reference if you set up a new module version do not set up a new module occurrence for the current year, instead go to the old module version and relink the new module occurrence to the new module version.
