Module Outline

This module will develop your skills at scientific communication and comprehension focused on the field of artificial intelligence. The module is structured to give you practical experience in several important aspects including:
• Efficient and effective methods for reading papers.
• Concise and precise scientific writing.
• Visual presentation of concepts and results.
• Effective poster and oral presentations
• Constructive and critical scientific review.
• Evaluation and presentation of evidence.

Module learning outcomes

Identify and communicate key methodological aspects from published research in AI and contrast these with alternative approaches.

Critique the scientific content and presentation of published research in AI.

Devise novel visual aids to concisely articulate key concepts from published research in AI.

Present an analytic evaluation of the evidence in published AI research and discuss how it supports a hypothesis.
